How would you best describe your style?
I like to capture a mixture of traditional / directed photos as well as capturing the more natural and candid shots where you and your guests are caught in the moment. I photograph your day as it unfolds, capturing every moment to provide you with a timeless gallery of your day. I love colour and for this reason I do not alter colours, I edit true to colour and provide black and white edits also.

Do you have backup equipment?
Yes, I have 2 camera bodies with me at all times, which both have 2 SD card slots each, which provides me with a backup of your wedding images. I also carry spare batteries for my cameras, spare batteries for my flash gun, spare lenses etc.

How long will you be at my wedding for?
I have various packages which cover a variety of hours from 1.5 - 10 hours, however I do welcome bespoke packages where you can put together your own package to cover everything you would like captured. If you would like to request your own package, please send me an email for a personalised quote.

Should I add a second photographer?
There is no easy answer for this one, it all depends on what your preferences and photography needs are. If you are having a larger wedding with lots of guests then I generally would advise a second photographer to assist with coverage half if not the full day...

There are so many moments that happen simultaneously at a wedding which are all worth having captured for you to remember, with that in mind there are a few factors to consider

Whilst I will cover as much as I possibly can on your wedding day, I cannot be in two places at once. By having a second Photographer they are able to capture a few important parts of the day;

  • Getting Ready / Groom Prep - If you would like photographs of both of you getting ready a second photographer is absolutely ideal. By having a second photographer capture Groom Preparation this means you will not need to miss out on these moments, and you can both look back on your preparation for your big day.

  • Ceremony - If you would like to capture both of your reactions as you walk down the aisle during your ceremony, capture your first kiss as well as your guests reactions, capture you walking down the aisle for the first time as a married couple from the front and also from the back to cover all perspectives? Then a second photographer would be absolutely perfect for your ceremony. With my second photographer present we can capture a number of different angles and provide you with a whole variety of photographs from your ceremony.

  • After the ceremony - Whilst I am busy working my way through the list of family/group and couples posed/directed photographs after your ceremony, my second photographer can capture the finer details of your venue, as well as candid and posed photographs of your guests.

  • Reception - Similarly to the Ceremony, having a second photographer present at your reception up to your first dance will provide you with a variety of different angles and photographs from your reception, to include your cake cutting and first dance.

  • The size of your wedding - I always recommend that it is worth considering having a second photographer present if your guest list is 100+ for day guests. This is because it can be challenging to work alone and ensure you have memories of everyone who is present at your wedding day.

Cost - A second photographer does add more cost, however some of my packages include a second photographer in the price, please refer to my Wedding Packages page

Editing - All images will be edited by myself, Charlotte Lock Photography to ensure consistency across your gallery. All of the edits will be provided to you on the same client gallery and delivered to you in the standard turnaround time.

If you are unsure whether you want a second photographer or for what duration you think would be best, we can have a chat about this and determine what would be best for your day and whether a second shooter is right for your wedding or not, depending on what is most important to you.

What if you haven't photographed our wedding/reception venue before?
I have worked in a number of locations within Kent, Sussex and Essex, however there are still a number of venues I have not photographed. Whether or not I have worked at your venue previously shouldn't be a deal breaker when choosing the photographer for you. The most important thing is technical knowledge and with that I am able to photograph your wedding venue in any light/season. If I am unable to view your venue in person prior to your wedding day (at a similar time and season to when you are planning on getting married) I will have a look on google to begin to get ideas of where we can capture your photographs, I will also arrive slightly earlier on the day (if your wedding is all in one venue) and have a wander around to gather more ideas.

Where are you based and how far will you travel?
I am based in Kent, England. However, I am happy to travel within the UK and overseas, travel charges may be incurred. If you are planning a location wedding and would love for me to photograph, please feel free to pop me a message and we can discuss your wedding plans and I can provide you with an all-inclusive quote to cover travel and the wedding package in which you opt for.

How many images will we receive and do we have print rights?
The number of images delivered depends on the wedding package in which you opt for, and whether you add a second photographer or not. You are given rights to print and share the edits, but you do not have the rights to edit or alter my images in anyway.

Can I edit your images?
No, unfortunately this is not an option. Whilst you will have print and share rights the Copyright will remain with myself in line with UK law. I always give my clients the opportunity to review their client gallery and request any changes to their edits, once they are then happy with the final gallery it is at this point that I will export onto the memory stick and finalise everything for you. As you are therefore given the opportunity to request any amendments to my edits it is very much appreciated that you do not alter my images in anyway.

Do you offer Engagement / Pre Wedding Shoots?
Yes, I do. An Engagement/Pre Wedding shoot is included in the price of my 'Platinum Package' as seen on my Wedding Packages page, this can also be added on to any of my other packages for a small cost. The benefits of having an Engagement / Pre Wedding shoot prior to your wedding day are that we will be able to meet in person and get to know each other a little better all whilst getting you used to being in front of the camera. Many of my clients who opt for an Engagement/Pre Wedding shoot use some of their images for their save the dates / wedding invites which is another benefit. These sessions are typically outdoors and will be for up to 1 hour, whilst I offer my suggestions for locations I am more than happy to welcome your ideas if you have a set location in mind for the shoot.

Can I bring my Child/Children or Dog(s) along to an Engagement/Pre Wedding Shoot?
Absolutely, I am more than happy to include the whole family in your Engagement/Pre Wedding photos. We can capture a mixture of different photographs to include family photos, just the 2 of you, just your children/dog on their own.

Can we meet you before the wedding?
Yes, we can arrange to meet either via a video call or in person, this will depend on my availability and logistics as to where you are/where you would like to meet. I would also recommend booking this meeting in either when you book your wedding photography with me, or as soon as possible thereafter as my diary fills up VERY quickly, as I also cover other genres of photography so my time is very limited.

Do we have to pay for a meal for you?
No, you do not have to feed me.
Would I like to be fed? Yes Please! If I am covering the majority of your day a meal at the same time as you and your guests are eating would be very much appreciated, as it is a very long day and this will help me to ensure I have enough energy to capture all of your precious memories.

Are you able to recommend any other suppliers?
Yes, I have a list of recommended suppliers to include MUA, Videographers, Hair and more. Please see my Recommended Suppliers page.

Do you have insurance?
Yes, I have public liability insurance, professional indemnity insurance and equipment insurance.

How do we book?
To book please either head to my contact me page or feel free to find me on Facebook or Instagram

Do you require a booking fee?
Yes, in order to secure your selected wedding package for your wedding date I require a 25% booking fee of your chosen package upfront. This is taken off of your overall balance, and the final balance is due 7 days prior to your wedding date.

I have a question which you haven't answered
Please feel free to send me a message with any other questions and I will get back to you at the earliest opportunity
